Cumbrae is a characterful, large and airy two-bedroom suite on the first floor of the East wing of the main house. It is generously appointed with antiques and original art work; it has a lovely mix of the old and new and boasts fabulous views across the main garden.

There is a superb double aspect bedroom with a SuperKing size bed and a luxurious ensuite featuring an original but fully restored roll top tub. A further bedroom (SuperKing size bed or twin configuration) with its own separate bathroom makes this an ideal Suite for four to share.

A large separate sitting room framed by two expansive windows and fully equipped kitchen area complete the ensemble.

Cumbrae is a perfect Knockdow suite to unwind and to come and enjoy the great outdoors. Our guests often comment on the silence punctuated only by bird song. After the perfect night's sleep, rise to be greeted by deer grazing on the lawns.

Booking

Terms & Conditions

Reservations do not constitute a legally binding contract between Knockdow House and the Customer until Knockdow House confirms the reservation with the Customer and provides the Customer with a booking reference.

We regret that we cannot accept pets in any of the accommodation.

Knockdow House is completely no smoking.

The Accommodation can be accessed from 3.30 on the date of arrival. 
We request that the accommodation is vacated by 10.30 on the day of departure.

Payment Policy

The tariff is based on an occupancy of : 
2 people for ‘The School House’ and ‘Bute’ 
4 people for ‘Cumbrae’ and 'Tower' 
Additional charges for each extra person are applicable where appropriate. 
The tariff includes electricity; heating; an initial basket of solid fuel (where applicable); all linen and towels.

A deposit of 25% is required to secure the accommodation, with the balance no later than 30 days before the arrival date.

We accept, Switch, Mastercard, Visa , Paypal or Bank transfers.

Cancellation Policy

The deposit is not refundable in the event of cancellation.

If a booking is cancelled within 30 days of arrival, every endeavour will be made to re-let the accommodation to avoid the full amount being forfeited. 
In the event that the property cannot be re-let for the entire period of the cancellation, the cancelling guest will forfeit the payment for those dates. We advise guests to take out travel insurance against unforeseen cancellations.

In the very unlikely event that Knockdow House may be forced to cancel a reservation, the Customer shall be informed immediately and shall be offered either a full refund of any and all sums paid or an alternative date to rebook wherever available.
